The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek will make its North American debut this week at the 2023 Chicago Auto Show on February 9, but Subaru wanted to take one final opportunity to tease the car before the big reveal. This is the second time Subaru has teased the Crosstrek in its US spec; the last teaser showed the wheel and tire setup. As a reminder, the 2024 Crosstrek has already been revealed in full for a global market, but it uses a different hybrid setup that likely won't be offered in the US market.

This new teaser focuses on the Crosstrek's rear end, specifically the badging on the hatch. As we learned from the previous teaser, the Crosstrek Sport trim will include yellow accents for a more eye-catching flare. Those yellow accents will be placed on the badges, bumpers, fenders, and likely the interior too. The Sport trim will come with black wheels and we've now seen it teased in two exterior colors: gray and blue.

Sadly, the badging on the left is too blurry to read in the teaser. This was likely done on purpose because it would reveal what engine is under the hood. Subaru currently offers the Crosstrek with either a 2.0-liter or 2.5-liter boxer-four engine, producing 152 and 183 horsepower, respectively. The former can be mated to a manual transmission while the latter is only sold with a CVT.

It seems unlikely that Subaru will retain the manual option in the Crosstrek, but perhaps the Japanese automaker will keep it alive for enthusiasts.

The Crosstrek in Japan gets a 2.0-liter engine with hybrid assistance, delivering 143 hp. There is no evidence that this setup will be available in the US-spec model. As for the rest of the car, it should look pretty similar to the pictures above and below. Aside from the Sport trim, which will be a US exclusive, we already know what the Crosstrek will look like.

All will be revealed less than two days from now.
