Subaru has officially announced what it will bring to the 2023 Chicago Auto Show.

The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek will make its US debut in the Windy City after the model was revealed last year in global markets as a 2023 model. Subaru plans to pull the sheet off of the latest Crosstrek on February 9 at 11 am EST; the event will be live-streamed on the company's website.

The Japanese automaker posted a single teaser image showing the Sport trim level. This trim level includes black wheels and bright yellow accents. Subaru may have already shown off the new Crosstrek in other markets, but not the Sport trim because it is traditionally a North America-only option.

You can see the global market Crosstrek below, and we expect the design to stay consistent for the US-spec version. As for what's under the hood, that's a different story. In other markets, the Crosstrek gets a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder e-Boxer producing 143 horsepower and 139 lb-ft, with the hybrid motor contributing 13 hp and 48 lb-ft. It seems highly unlikely that the US will get the e-Boxer setup.

Subaru's website says, "sign up now to be one of the first to see the upgraded power, advanced technology, and enhanced safety of the all-new 2024 Crosstrek."

Currently, the 2.0-liter base boxer engine in the Crosstrek produces 152 hp, while the larger 2.5-liter engine develops 182 hp. If the 2024 model has "upgraded power," that rules out the less powerful hybrid setup.

Inside, we expect the 2024 Crosstrek to get Subaru's latest 11.6-inch vertical touchscreen that's been making its way to other models in the lineup. A smaller screen will be standard on the base model.

Subaru offers a front-wheel-drive model in Japan with a lower base price of around $20,000, but it's unclear if this version will be offered in the US.

We only have to wait a few more weeks to receive more details.
