Here at CarBuzz, we love nothing more than a good old fashioned drag race between two irresponsibly overpowered sports cars, and in this video, posted to YouTube by Daniel Abt, we get to see one of our favorite Italian supercars, the Lamborghini Huracan STO take on a heavily tuned ABT Audi RS6 Avant. Last year we covered a drag race between a heavily modified Audi RS3 and a Lamborghini Aventador. In that race, the Lamborghini wiped the floor with the little Audi, but with nearly 800 horsepower under the hood of the RS6 Avant, we think house Audi stands a better chance this time.

First, let's take a look at the two competitors. The Lamborghini Huracan STO is the natural favorite here. Its slippery shape and supercar pedigree already give it a one-up on the Audi, but what makes this car tick?

Under the hood, the Huracan STO features a naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter screamer of a V10 engine that produces 630 hp and 417 lb-ft of torque. Despite the lack of an all-wheel-drive system, the Huracan STO will still bolt to 60 mph in 3 seconds and hit 124 mph in nine seconds.

The Audi is a completely different animal: this family station wagon is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 which produces 591 hp and 590 lb-ft in stock form. This allows the Audi to sprint to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds, and top out at 190 mph. Unfortunately for the Lambo, this Audi boasts 789 hp and 723 lb-ft thanks to some ABT wizardry.

In the first quarter-mile race, the Audi gets the jump and maintains it for a few hundred feet, but the Lamborghini slowly claws back and eventually takes the win by about half a car length. The Audi completed the quarter in 11.1 seconds, while the Lamborghini did it in 10.89 seconds. The Lambo did a 0-60 mph time of 3.36 seconds and the Audi an impressive 3.3 seconds.

On to the half-mile race. Off the line, the Audi once again gets the jump, but the Huracan reels it in, and crosses the line in first place. This time the numbers read as follows: 3.27 seconds to sixty for the Audi, 3.35 seconds for the Lambo, a quarter-mile time of 11.06 seconds for the Audi, and 10.92 for the Lambo. The exit speed over the half-mile is a blistering 155 mph for the RS6, and 158 mph for the Lambo. The second run is closer, but the Lamborghini still manages to take it in the end.

A final rolling race shows just how much faster the Lamborghini is. It seems like the lack of top-end pull continues to plague the all-wheel-drive Audi clan, even when heavily modified.
