Mercedes primarily developed the AMG GT to battle the Porsche 911, and it has done a terrific job. Mercedes has done so well that its 911 competitor has taken on foes in a completely different echelon-the class containing the McLaren 650S, Ferrari 458 Italia and Lamborghini Huracan. The AMG GT S may be able to go toe to toe in looks, luxury, and top speed, but what about straight line acceleration?
