Need for Speed races out of video games and onto the big screen with a staggering array of supercars.
Movies based on video games can be hit or miss. We'll let you decide for yourself which should end up in which column, but there have been plenty of examples to choose from: Mortal Kombat, Tomb Raider, Resident Evil (and all its sequels), Hitman, Max Payne… the list goes on, but what we haven't seen is a driving game turned into a movie. But that's what's on the horizon. Need for Speed is set to jump from the gaming console to the big screen on May 14, offering fans of the Fast & Furious movies something else to keep them entertained.
Eye-witnesses on the scene of the film's shooting indicate that the movie will include, among others, such lust-worthy supercars as the McLaren P1, Koenigsegg Agera R, Bugatti Veyron Super Sport and GTA Spano. Now that's our idea of a star-studded cast. We just can't wait until the Academy Awards next year to see which supercar gets the Oscar.
