Replicas of the brutish and iconic Shelby Cobra aren't exactly a difficult thing to find, but there is a world of difference between one of those 351-powered fiberglass kits and a properly done Shelby-licensed continuation car. The car you are looking at here belongs to the latter category. Superformance built this example, which has 2,000 miles on the odometer and is presently for sale as well. Special attention was paid to make certain it is as close to the original as possible.

Under the hood you will find the requisite 427 V8 (which actually displaces 428cu-in) mated to a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. The engine produces 500hp and 525lb-ft of torque, thanks to the meticulous care with which it was built and balanced. This includes ported and polish heads as well as an intake all from Edelbrock, with the cam and lifters coming from Competition Cams. The gauges, interior, and paint have received the same kind of love, and the car looks fantastic. The price has been set at $55,000 and frankly, that's a steal.
