The race that you'll see here is part of a sport that got its start as a bet between a couple of friends, pretty much how a lot of the most entertaining sports to watch got started in our estimation. The boats are powered by 30-horsepower outboard motors, which is plenty for a watercraft which weighs so very little. In fact, the crafts are so light that two people are needed to effectively steer, with one of them acting as a sort of moving ballast to help for faster direction changes.

We're fairly sure it's never going to be an Olympic sport, but it's a lot of fun to watch.
