Tthe facelifted 2021 Mercedes E-Class Coupe and 2021 Mercedes E-Class Convertible are ready to break cover on May 27. After teasing the enhanced exterior design, Mercedes is now giving us a look inside the improved interior. Since the Mercedes E-Class Sedan facelift has already debuted, the hi-tech interior looks very familiar. Like the sedan, the 2021 Mercedes E-Class Coupe and Convertible will sport the latest Mercedes MBUX infotainment system featuring an advanced voice assistant that can read weather forecasts, adjust the cabin temperature, turn on heated seats, or read out the score for the game of the driver's favorite sports team.

The infotainment system and digital cluster will be displayed on two high-resolution 12.3-inch screens that merge into a widescreen cockpit.

The system supports touchscreen control for the media display and augmented reality technology for the navigation display that superimposes arrows or house numbers directly onto the image in the media display. An optional MBUX Interior Assistant also allows the user to control MBUX functions with gesture controls. For example, the media display changes and individual elements are highlighted if a hand approaches the touchscreen or the touchpad on the center console.

The sporty Mercedes-AMG E 53 Coupe and Cabriolet also get unique AMG specific functions and displays including the visualization of the driving programs and telemetry data on the touchscreen multimedia display. Three display styles will be available including a "Supersport" mode featuring a central tachometer.

Other displays such as engine data, gear indicator, warm-up, setup, G-meter and a race timer can be selected in the AMG models. The teaser image also confirms the 2021 E-Class Coupe and Convertible will be updated with a new steering wheel with capacitive Touch Control. This is the same wheel design that will feature in the new swanky S-Class.

As for driver assists, the 2021 E-Class Coupe and Convertible will be equipped with an active brake assist as standard. An optional Driver Assistance package adds an active distance assist with route-based speed adjustment, an active steering assist that can be used on highways at speeds below 37 mph, an active blind spot assist with exit warning, and a parking assist with a 360-degree camera.
