Earier this month we reported that Hennessey opened a can of Texas whoop ass when it announced that its Venom GT had just set a new Guinness World Record by going from 0-300 km/h (186.4 mph) in just 13.63 seconds. An official video is now out showing the event. The Venom GT also set a new unofficial acceleration record of 0-200 mph in only 14.51 seconds, breaking the Koenigsegg Agera R's record of 17.68 seconds. That's exactly 3.17 secs slower. The Bugatti Veyron Super Sport had a time of 22.2 secs - 7.7 secs behind the Venom GT.

During testing, the Venom GT was also clocked at going from 0-60 mph in 3.05 seconds, 0-100 mph in 5.88 seconds, the standing quarter-mile in 10.29 seconds at 158.83 mph and the standing half-mile at 205.65 mph. By the way, it's top speed is also rated at 272 mph. America: F-ck yeah!
