All while carrying some very precious cargo.
While Europe gets a newer, more premium Passat, Volkswagen North America is still chugging along with the old model that has been on the market since 2011. A new Passat is on its way soon, but not soon enough for the old model to experience a sales standstill. VW hoped it could keep the Passat relevant for at least another year with the introduction of a sporty GT model. Though there hasn't been an enormous buzz around the Passat GT, we think it looks like a very interesting option in the sporty sedan segment.
In order to show of the Passat GT's full potential, VW enlisted the help of professional race car driver and former Top Gear host, Tanner Foust. In the ad, Foust shows that the Passat GT is perfectly capable of spirited driving (with some sliding around), all while carrying precious cargo.
The cargo is revealed at the end to be a cake for a child's 7th birthday party. The Passat GT is powered by a 3.6-liter VR6 engine sending 280 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque to the front wheels. Pricing starts at under $30,000, making it a great sport sedan for someone who still needs a large, comfortable daily driver.
