Nissan is ending the year on a high with the simultaneous reveal of two very different SUVs in just a few days, but before this happens, the company has given us a taste of what's to come. Yesterday, the 2021 Nissan Kicks was teased and the funky crossover is expected to do well with its bold new look. But for those who need a much larger, more powerful, and capable SUV, there is the comparatively gargantuan Nissan Armada. Nissan has just teased the new Armada in a new six-second video clip of the SUV speeding through the desert accompanied by the line "Tame The Wild".

As teasers go, it's hard to get an absolutely clear look at the new Armada, but we have been able to pick up a couple of design details. At the front, there is a distinctive "double boomerang" shape to the LED daytime running lamps that remind us of the headlights of the latest Titan truck. While the grille is deeper than before, the D-pillar slant is reminiscent of the existing Armada. At the back, we get a glimpse of the roof spoiler and reshaped taillights. Nothing about it looks particularly groundbreaking, but it appears to be a welcome upgrade over the current model which had started to age.

There's no word yet on the latest Armada's technical details, but it could follow a similar recipe to the current version which means a big, powerful, but thirsty engine in front. In the current model, the 5.6-liter V8 produces 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque and can tow up to 8,500 pounds. Both the 2021 Armada and the 2021 Kicks will be officially revealed on Tuesday, December 8 at 11:00 EST on Nissan's website. It should wrap up an exciting year for the Japanese marque after the reveal of the first new Z car in many years in the form of the Z Proto. Along with the dramatic redesign of the Nissan Sentra - a finalist for People's Car in our 2020 CarBuzz Awards - the next year looks bright for Nissan.
