Tesla has marked February 9th, 2012, as the date they will unveil their latest EV. The Model X crossover/SUV will make its debut online and feature the same styling cues as their upcoming Model S sedan. The Model X will see its cover lifted at the American company's California design studio and will be streamed live on their website. The new crossover will run on a modified version of the Model S sedan's platform. The architecture in the sedan is good for a top speed of 125mph and a range of 160 miles.

Those numbers will surely decrease due to the larger size of the Model X's body. Tesla has so far only released this image of their new EV crossover, which doesn't tell us much. Concerning the Model X's looks, CEO Elon Musk put it best when he so eloquently said "Most cars are pretty blah. This is not." The American company plans on producing about 15,000 cars annually beginning next year. They eventually want to boost that number up significantly to 500,000 vehicles total, consisting of the aforementioned Model S and Model X along with the next-generation Roadster.
