Last week we reported on a cryptic message published by Jeep in which it showed a picture of the Grand Canyon with the definition of the word "grand" placed front and center. The words "coming soon" was also embossed at the bottom of the image. This is most likely in connection with the launch of the new Jeep Grand Cherokee. Now Jeep has kicked things up a gear by releasing another little teaser for the Wagoneer. The iconic American brand has released some of the first design details of this highly anticipated SUV, and we're on the edge of our seats.

The first clue we're given is a look at the Wagoneer decal which shows off the American flag with a tasteful retro look. The peak we're given into the cabin of the Wagoneer shows off a contemporary-cool look that combines rugged outdoorsy style with premium elegance. We can clearly see the start/stop button in the foreground, as well as the old-school knobs for the infotainment system that stick out from the dashboard. The infotainment display does not seem to be integrated into the rest of the dashboard, but rather sits in front of the center console. For now, this is all that Jeep is willing to part with, but as we know from weeks past, the cryptic trail will surely continue.

Things we do know about the full-size Jeep Wagoneer thus far is the fact that it will be a body on frame SUV that will share its platform with the Ram 1500. We also know that it will be a three-row SUV which will allow it to go head to head with competitors such as the Land Rover Discovery. Rumor has it that the Grand Wagoneer name will also be revived, and will offer even more space than the standard car. Adding to its contemporary appeal will be independent rear suspension as seen in cars such as Chevy's Tahoe and Suburban, and one of our favorite tidbits is the fact that it will be offered as a hybrid vehicle with a 48-volt system. The pickings might be slim at the moment, but we're slowly learning more about the return of this legend.
