TechArt's Insane Porsche Display Steals The Scene At Bangkok International Motor Show

Tuning / Comments

Thailand is an important market for Porsche, so TechArt is making sure it has a presence.

German Porsche specialist TechArt has dazzled the crowds at the Bangkok International Motor Show, previewing a series of custom luxury and sports cars that could be the coolest display of modified Porsches we've seen in a long time.

The show, which takes place until April 2, was the chosen setting for the world premiere of the GTstreet R Flyweight, a lightened and more hardcore version of the 911 Turbo S. With 800 horsepower and 700 lb-ft of torque, it's a serious bit of kit, and TechArt claims it can dash from 0 - 62 mph in a scant 2.5 seconds. The extroverted styling won't appeal to everyone, though.

It may come as a surprise, but Thailand is a big market for Porsche, sporting one of the most incredible Porsche enthusiast gatherings in the world. The Cayenne is also particularly prevalent in the market.

With that surprising statistic in mind, it comes as no surprise that TechArt is moving into more markets. The German tuner is represented by B Autohaus Ltd in Thailand, which undoubtedly sells many accessories to wealthy Cayenne owners.

"We're excited to bring some of the most powerful and visually stunning TechArt-refined Porsche models on the market to the Bangkok International Motor Show. This is a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase our expertise as the leader in the refinement of Porsche models and to connect with car enthusiasts from all over the world," remarked a company representative.

Aside from the GTStreet R Flyweight, the firm also used the opportunity to exhibit a fully-converted 911 Carrera 4S. Painted in Shark Blue, the striking sports car has been transformed thanks to the fitment of a custom interior, body kit, and Daytona II forged wheels, finished in a rather shocking shade of yellow.

Other models on display at the Bangkok International Motor Show include a lightly revised Cayenne, which is rather subtle compared to some of TechArt's creations.

The sporting character of the SUV is underlined by the tasteful body kit and liftgate spoiler; we'd love to see what the company comes up with for the upcoming Cayenne facelift, which is being touted as a substantial upgrade over the existing model. This will be the final ICE-powered generation before Porsche relaunches the SUV as an electric vehicle.

Recently, TechArt launched a new 3D configurator that allows fans and potential customers to design their custom Porsche from scratch. Whether you want a hardcore 911 Turbo or just a Taycan that stands out from the crowd, there's something for everyone - provided they have fat wallets, of course.
