Tested: Fiesta ST Has Bucketloads of Fun for Less Buck

Hot Hatch

Has Ford nailed the hot hatch formula?

Everyone's talking about the Focus ST- even comparingit to the best hot hatches out there. So, how does its little Ford brother fit into the crowded segment? With a 1.6-liter direct-injected turbofour, the Fiesta ST produces 197 horsepower and 202 lb-ft of torque. Add in a great set of breaks, forgiving traction control and a snug-but-cozy interior- not to mention 35mpg fuel economy and a base price of $22,100- and there's no wonder the word “fun” keeps coming up in this video.

Drive Network’s Mike Musto takes this “pint-sized powerhouse”out on the track to see if Ford’s recipe works for the littlest player in thebig-boy market.
