"That's A Real Hummer, Not One Of Them Later Ones"

Drag Race

Best. Line. Ever.

Yep, that title is a bona fide quote. It all started when Doug DeMuro figured he ought to take his Hummer to the drag strip because why not. How fast is a Hummer, an H1 Hummer that’s not one of “them later ones built for bitches” (couldn’t help using that again, sorry) at the quarter-mile? Not very, as you’ve likely assumed. But it’s still fun to watch the 7,000-pound hulk of metal make an attempt. Twice. What other cars were lining up at the strip that day? Oh, just your typical Mustangs, Camaros, and a Hellcat.

There was even a semi-truck that, surprisingly, didn’t do half bad. But today’s focus is the Hummer. How fast (or slow) can it do the quarter-mile? Hope you have some spare time right about now.
