If you're looking for an all-encompassing off-roader, few vehicles come close to the Ram 1500 TRX. It may be attached to a hefty $76,880 price tag, but you certainly get a lot for your money. Aside from being a talented dune destroyer, the range-topping truck boasts luxurious innards and, importantly, a thumping 6.2-liter supercharged V8 with 702 horsepower and 650 lb-ft of torque.

But if this still isn't enough power for you, Hennessey Performance is on hand to create something even more powerful. Called the Hennessey Mammoth, the outrageous truck is handed myriad performance upgrades, resulting in an earth-bending 1,012 hp and 969 lb-ft torque. This makes for one fairly unstoppable truck, be it on-road or off-road. To demonstrate the latter, its maker took to both the snow and desert to show what it's made of.

The video opens with the bright yellow example creating mounds of dust, its large wheels kicking up dirt as the supercharged V8 lets out an almighty bellow. Incredibly, the large brute tracks straight and true, unhindered by the slippery surface. Various off-road enhancing options are made available, including 37-inch off-road tires and a front leveling kit.

It must be said that the original TRX is no slouch when it comes to tackling the less-traveled road. Not only does it have 11.8 inches of ground clearance, but suspension travel is rated at 13- and 14 inches at the front and rear, respectively. But, with its extra power, the Mammoth is better still. It's not just the loose dust of the desert that Hennessey threw at the Mammoth, pushing it to the limits on an icy, snow-laden mountainside.

As you'd expect, the V8-powered behemoth takes the snow in its stride, simply plowing through the white stuff with a cavalier disregard for physics. Then again, anything is possible when you're behind the wheel of an all-conquering truck such as this. It's not all sweetness and light, though. This performance does come at a price. The Mammoth is said to cost around $150,000, which is near twice the price of the original TRX.

Then again, it's near-impossible to find a truck that blends performance, off-road ability, presence, and practicality quite so well as the TRX. Few trucks can match it for straight-line speed unless someone pulls up next to the supercharged pickup in a Rivian R1T, that is. But if somehow, you're left craving more, Hennessey will be all too happy to oblige to your needs and build you the $250,000 Apocalypse Warlord, a six-wheeled version of the already-capable 6x6.
