The Audi R8 has always been one of the more impressive supercars. Elegant styling, along with big power and actual real world usability have contributed to the R8's popularity. Their R-Tronic manu-matic transmission has been a source of some controversy, but the R8 has been otherwise met with positive reviews. At the Paris Motor Show, Audi unveiled a lighter and more powerful version of the R8, the R8 GT.

The R8 GT utilizes the same weight saving techniques that are used for other lightweight supercars. They have abandoned the usual Audi aluminum for some of the body panels in favor of carbon fiber. The windows have been put on a diet as well, with the windshield being made thinner and the rear windows being polycarbonate, rather than glass. The 5.2 liter V10 has also been retuned, bringing the horsepower up from 525 to 560. Only 333 of these GT's will be made, and it'll run you about $256,000.
