Although not the most significant auto show in the country, there were some good showings at the 2011 LA Auto Show.
Unlike many Hollywood movies, the annual LA Auto Show is not a blockbuster event within the industry. Car manufacturers unveiled just a handful of new cars, a few facelifts, and some official North American premieres took place consisting of concepts and prototypes brought over from Europe and Japan. There were also the typical environmentally friendly vehicles. However, not all of the manufacturers attended the show.
Local manufacturers, Tesla and Fisker, decided to pass although 2012 is going to be crucial for both. Tesla will be launching its new S sedan and Fisker is already selling the Karma. In all likelihood, they were probably too occupied in designing their 2012 campaigns than attending a marginal auto show. But they were not alone. Prestige marques like Ferrari, Lamborghini and McLaren were also absent. As a result, the center stage was left wide open for all of the mainstream manufacturers to show-off their fresh stock. And here are some photos from the show. Have a Happy Thanksgiving.
