You wouldn't think this would be something to come from Dodge, or Fiat Chrysler in general. High-performance sedans like the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat more commonly come from Audi, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz. In short, the Germans. But America has a way of striking back hard with sheer, raw power and the Charger Hellcat is definitive proof. Imagine our pure joy when we recently had the chance to spend some time behind the wheel of a 2017 Charger Hellcat.

Under the hood lies that glorious as ever (and built in Mexico) supercharged 6.2-liter Hellcat V8 with a total of 707 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. All of that power goes to the rear wheels through an eight-speed automatic.

N/A

No six-speed manual is offered, but we honestly didn't mind so much. One reason why is that 0 to 60 mph happens in a mere 3.4 seconds. Just for comparison, the Ferrari 488 GTB does the same sprint in 3 seconds flat. Now, here's where the Charger Hellcat is a Porsche Panamera Turbo S killer: top speed is a claimed 204 mph, thus making it the fastest production sedan in existence today. Equally satisfying is the fact that it costs a third of what Porsche wants for that Panamera Turbo S. With a base price just over $63,000, our Charger Hellcat tester totaled $70,635 with added options and, not surprisingly, a gas guzzler tax. God bless America. Special thanks to DGDG.com for letting us film the car.
