The theme for year's Goodwood Festival of Speed's sounds very promising.
The annual Goodwood Festival of Speed in England is one of the most anticipated motoring events of the year for auto enthusiasts. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the eclectic car gathering event, so it’s only right that the theme of the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed is appropriately special. This year’s theme has been announced as “Peaks of Performance – Motorsport’s Game-Changers,” featuring some of the most influential cars that rewrote the motorsport rule book.
So, what can you expect at the show? Naturally, there will be the usual selection of racing classics from a wide variety of eras and disciplines tackling the famous hillclimb event, including Le Mans, F1, NASCAR and trophy truck racers. The real standouts, however, will be the seminal machines that fit the "Game-Changers" theme, from vintage lightweight Grand Prix cars from the 1930s and 1,000 hp turbocharged racecar rockets that dominated F1 in the 1980s, to the notorious Group B beasts that made rallying unmissable in the 1980s. Even motorcycle enthusiasts won’t be left out, with iconic 500cc Grand Prix bikes, legendary MotoGP machines and winners from the Isle of Mann TT and World Superbike championships.
From what we know so far, it sounds like this year’s Goodwood Festival Of Speed is not to be missed when the four day event gets underway on Thursday 29 June.
