Mercedes-Benz never holds back when it comes to pushing technological boundaries. Come to think of it, no German automaker is willing to be left behind in this realm; Audi and BMW also go to great lengths in utilizing the latest tech. But the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E300, the subject of today's review, is such a massive leap forward from its predecessor it's almost as if Mercedes skipped a generation.

Not only is the 2017 E300 the most advanced car Mercedes has ever built, it's also "the most intelligent sedan in the world." Mercedes' words. So imagine our excitement when we were able to spend some time with the new E300 and all of its ridiculously cool technologies.

N/A

Powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four with 241 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque, our E300 came with a host of cool tech toys, such as Drive Pilot adaptive cruise control and semi-autonomous steering that can follow cars up to 130 mph. There's also the Pre-Safe Impulse Side and, essentially, when it detects an incoming side collision, the system inflates the side bolster to move the occupants away from the impact point. At the same time, the system pumps noise waves through the speakers to reduce hearing damage following the collision. Impressive.
