Citroen's all-electric two-seater set to stun in Geneva.
Citroens haven't been sold in the US since 1974, so it's perfectly alright if you have no idea that the French automaker existed or what it has been up to. Actually, you can just forget about the last 40 or so years and focus on this, the DS E-Tense concept. (DS is the automaker's luxury sub-brand.) This concept seats two and is all-electric, making 402 horsepower and 381 lb-ft of torque. It can reportedly get from 0 to 62 mph in just 4.5 seconds and its top speed is electronically limited at 155 mph.
Citroen says it can travel as far as 224 miles in city driving conditions but we doubt that range will be hit. Why would you drive like a grandpa when you have such performance on tap? The E-Tense weighs in at 3,968 pounds and has a carbon fiber monocoque chassis. Citroen says its designers needed 800 hours to construct the cabin, so you can bet we're looking forward to seeing inside the E-Tense come Geneva. The steering wheel looks like a tulip and there's said to be a 10-inch infotainment screen inside along with a nine-speaker sound system. As for looks, well the DS E-Tense is simply stunning. That carbon fiber front lip spoiler and rear diffuser make it look super sporty. This car is likely to remain a concept forever which is a bummer.
We'll have a live shots and more info on the DS E-Tense come Geneva, but for now enjoy this artsy teaser video from Citroen.
