To the majority of individuals, cars aren't works of art. But as enthusiasts, we know better. Italian coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera, however, has created one of the prettiest cars in the world with the Alfa Romeo Disco Volante Spider. The coachbuilder is celebrating its 90th anniversary in the best way possible with this gorgeous work of art. Like the coupe that came before it, the car is built upon an Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione. Only seven models will be built, which is a shame because this will turn anyone into an enthusiast.

To make the vehicle even more of a rare sight, each one will be painted in a different color with the pictured Volante Spider being finished in Blue Ceruleo. The car uses the same chassis at the 8C, but features two carbon fiber roof panels to ensure that driving dynamics aren't spoiled. The carbon-fiber roof can be removed by hand and stored in the boot. There are no details on what powers the beautiful car, but it will most likely use the same 4.7-liter V8 and six-speed semi-automatic transmission from the 8C. That would give the vehicle 444 hp and 350 lb-ft of torque and the ability to get to 60 mph in roughly 4 seconds. Full details on the car will be released when the Volante Spider goes on display at the Geneva Motor Show this week.
