One month ago, CarBuzz discovered a patent from Stellantis for the name Magneto. Yes, like the X-Men villain. We assumed this would be the name for Jeep's upcoming electric concept model, and it looks like we may be correct. Jeep has just confirmed that the Magneto concept will debut during the 2021 Easter Jeep Safari in Moab, Utah. The company usually reveals a slew of concept vehicles at this event, but it was canceled last year due to the pandemic.

Jeep says "unbridled fun, open-air freedom, and electric powertrains" will be the theme of this year's Easter Safari. We will see the vehicles in full during the event from March 27 to April 4, but until then, Jeep has given us two Design sketches that tease upcoming concept models, including the Magneto.

The first teaser image is self-explanatory, showing a white Jeep Wrangler with the word "Magneto" on the hood. The graphic features a light blue border, much like the signature color seen on the Wrangler 4xe plug-in hybrid. Although the Magneto Concept appears to have a traditional grille, we believe it to be the all-electric Wrangler that Jeep hinted at in February.

The second image presents more of a mystery. It shows an orange Wrangler with a black grille, but there are no hood graphics that show a name. Jeep did include the word "Frank" at the bottom written in orange, but that is only pointing out the creative designer who drew the sketch, Frank Dionisopoulos.

The orange car clearly features Jeep Performance Parts, including a brush bar, winch, extra lights, wheels, tires, and the recently-revealed half doors. This concept doesn't immediately jump out as an electrified vehicle, but perhaps there is more than meets the eye. The background behind the concept is a cool orange plaid design, so perhaps this concept could preview a cool retro-themed interior.

There is no guarantee that either of these concept models will reach production, but the V8-powered Wrangler Rubicon 392 also began its life as an Easter Safari concept, so anything is possible.
