The closest we've come to seeing the all-new R8 Spyder is a couple of speculative renderings. But this video of the second-gen model gives us the best look yet at the real deal. The clip shows the drop-top supercar testing hard at the Nurburgring, as well as cruising on the roads around the German racetrack. Like the outgoing model, the new R8 Spyder will sport a folding soft top, while a custom decklid will cover the roof when retracted.

As well as sporting the same basic design as the coupe, the R8 Spyder will borrow its powerplant, so a 610-hp 5.2-liter V10 will be doing the motivation, helping it to sprint from 0-62 mph in just over 3.2 seconds and top out at over 200 mph.
