We'd say “exit with their dignity intact,” but that doesn't seem to be a realistic goal.
There is an entire page of the BMW i8 owner's manual dedicated to instructing you how to enter and exit the vehicle. But the truth is that it's going to be difficult no matter how prepared you are for it. The i8 is unique in this area, but in truth it is more awkward than most newer supercars tend to be. So here we can see some automotive industry executives at the Detroit Auto Show trying to get out of the car without falling on their faces.
Admittedly, some of them don't seem to be trying too hard, and are more making fun of the car. But you would have to try a lot harder to make getting out of a Porsche 911 or Audi R8 look this difficult.
