Cadillac, as we all know by now, is anxious to take the fight to its German rivals. In fact, it's very anxious. But at the same time, this isn't stopping those German automakers from fiercely competing against each other, which is nothing new. And for all of the success BMW is having with its new M4, archrival Mercedes-AMG isn't about to let that premium coupe steal the spotlight. Autocar is reporting that the upcoming next-gen Mercedes C63 AMG Coupe, due to be unveiled in September at Frankfurt, will pack up to 503 hp and 516 lb-ft.

However, the standard C63 AMG will have 469 hp and 479 lb-ft. while the upgraded C63 S the former. The M4 has a total of 425 hp and 406 lb-ft. Clearly AMG wants to win the output battle here, as well as general performance specs. We're hearing the new C63 AMG coupe will make the sprint to 62 mph in less than 4 seconds flat. The M4 does this in 4.1 seconds. Weight will also be down despite its increase in dimensions. Though capable of a top speed of 186 mph, AMG will once again electronically limit that to 155 mph. 2016 C63 AMG Coupe sales will begin in November, but we'll hopefully see it face off against the M4 before then.
