Up until now we've only heard the 471-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 in the Lexus LC 500 roar in controlled environments. We're talking about commercials for the car. It sounded great but we were curious how much of that roar was enhanced on the back end. Luckily it appears the answer to that question is "not much" as this new video proves the LC500 will have a throaty roar to go along with its drop-dead gorgeous good looks. This clip shows the car doing some testing at the Nurburgring.

There's not much action here, at least visually. We recommend closing your eyes before hitting play so that you can truly take in what is sure to be one of the LC 500's most revered features.

The LC500 will be available in hybrid form-the LC 500h-but we're not sure why anyone would opt for the coupe in that guise. The hybrid offers less power and is sure to much quieter courtesy of its 3.5-liter V6 and two electric motors. Lexus' new two-door will be facing some stiff competition, both established and upstart, when it hits the market. The automaker's two-doors have been having some problems separating themselves from the competition as well. How many people do you hear ever talk about the RC F and how drool-worthy it is? (Except for us.) If the LC 500 drives as good as it sounds it looks like Lexus has a winner on its hand that should be able to separate itself from the competition.
