Did you know that the year 2016 is the 50th birthday of the Chevrolet Camaro? It's okay if you didn't because the automaker is here to remind you with this, the 50th Anniversary Edition Camaro. This celebratory muscle car is mostly about aesthetics, although there are new 20-inch wheels and a front splitter in the package. After that, though, it's mostly just paint and badging. Of course that's not bad as the Nightfall Gray Metallic looks damn good along with that double orange racing stripe.

Aside from the paint there's also a special grille with satin chrome accents and orange brake calipers, although those are only up front if you put this package on a 2LT; it's also available on 2SS models. "Fifty" badging appears all over the exterior and is even written on the new wheels! Inside there's black leather with suede inserts and orange stitching. Chevy is promising "distinct 50th Anniversary treatments on instrument panel, seatbacks, steering wheel and illuminated sill plates" as well. The 50th Anniversary Edition Camaro is available for both coupes and convertibles with pricing yet to be announced. On the 2LT the RS Appearance Package comes standard, making this a double whammy for turbo-four and V6 owners.

While no price has been revealed yet, Chevy did say it wasn't going to cap the amount of 50th Anniversary Edition Camaros made. To us that means this package won't cost an arm and a leg. The package is expected to drop in summer with Chevy writing on its promo images that the "actual production model may vary." In the spirit of birthdays, hopefully the automaker adds features instead of subtracting them.
