The worst thing about the all-new Suzuki Jimny is that it won't be sold in North America. It's not the Jimny's fault; Suzuki left this market back in 2012. But we can still clamor for this insanely cool, back-to-basics off-road SUV. It also makes for a good mini Mercedes-Benz G-Class and Land Rover Defender, thanks to Japanese tuner DAMD, via AutoExpress.

Previously, DAMD created body kit for the Toyota 86 sports coupe so that it'd look like the Lexus LFA supercar. This time the company has built a pair of body kits allowing new Jimny owners to turn their SUV into a miniaturized G wagon or Defender.

The Little-D kit includes Defender-like headlights and grille, a bigger front bumper with skid plate, spare wheel out back, and a rear bumper also styled in spirit of the Defender's rear end. Along with a set of off-road wheels and tires, and mud flaps, the final look is very Defender-ish. The rest is all Jimny, like its boxy body, roof, and interior.

Prefer a G-Class copy? No problem. The Little-G body kit is there for you, providing the same body treatment as the Little-D only with G wagon inspired styling.

Unfortunately, there's no other information to provide at this time, such as pricing, other than the kits are scheduled to go on sale sometime in 2019 and will be available in every market where new Jimnys are sold. Both body kits make an already great-looking SUV look more like those other two respective boxes on wheels, but if it were up to us we'd take the new Suzuki Jimny as is.

We saw it in the flesh a couple of months ago at the Paris Motor Show and came away smitten. If you were ever considering a move to somewhere outside of North America, the new Suzuki Jimny could just seal the deal.
