The DeLorean is Back for the Future

Offbeat

Nearly 30 years since the automaker tanked, the DeLorean DMC-12 remains a beloved favorite for many millennials.

Love it or hate it, the DeLorean DMC-12 has been and always will be a unique car. With its stainless steel body panels and gullwing doors, the two-seat sports car was nearly left in the dustbin of history until a little movie called "Back to the Future" premiered in 1985. After that the DeLorean became a favorite car and cherished childhood memory for countless Millennials, many of whom are now buying and restoring them. A used one in good shape costs around $25,000, which ironically enough is what they cost back in 1981.
