Camping has never looked this badass.
When it comes to recreational vehicles, there are quite a few options out there. One of them is the new Volkswagen's Mini-Camper, but if you're looking to combine the utility of a recreational vehicle with the go-anywhere, do-anything attitude of a Unimog, you're going to need something that doesn't have the word "mini" in the name. Enter EarthCruiser and its new Terranova camper. Based on looks alone, it's safe to say that the Terranova is a monster. Although the pictures show a digital representation of a vehicle based on a Ram 3500, it's actually a sort of package that can be equipped to 2020 or newer Ford F-350 and Chevrolet Silverado 3500 models too in much the same way as EarthRoamer's campers.
So what does this package entail? Well, there's a full LED light bar in front and solar panels on the roof, but the really cool features are hidden inside. That roof can be raised and in this configuration features eight windows, giving you a panoramic view of the outside world. The Terranova also has bench seats with leather padding, a 4.2-cubic-foot refrigerator/freezer, a stove, and the usual bathroom amenities like a toilet, shower, and sink, the former hidden from sight when not in use. There's enough room for proper beds, and due to the shell's fiberglass and "high-density plastic" construction, the camper is light enough to avoid infringing on off-road performance.
As with many other aftermarket camper solutions out there, you have access to additional options like an exterior shower, air conditioning, custom storage units, and more, but the standard configuration still offers purified drinking water and a tank so that you can go anywhere without worrying about on-site amenities. The Terranova is currently in the design and engineering phase, but EarthCruiser is accepting reservations already and plans to release the finished product early next year. Unfortunately, there's no pricing information available on EarthCruiser's website, but past projects from the company have been quite pricey and this one is expected to cost around $250,000.
