Forget the Evora. Lotus needs to focus on its roots.
Although it debuted back in 2000, the Lotus Exige was heavily revised in 2011 and it still represents what the brand is all about. "Simplify, then add lightness" was founder Colin Chapman’s philosophy, and the Exige S is the most current and pure iteration of that. While the Evora is meant to be a Porsche 911 fighter, the Exige S has no such direct competitor. Powered by a 3.5-liter supercharged V6 with 345 horsepower, it goes from 0-62 mph in 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 168 mph. It weighs just 2,381 lbs. If Lotus wants to survive, then it needs to return to its founding roots.
