If you want one of the purest-driving SUVs in the world, it's hard to think of any better than the 2022 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Coupe.

This is the first Porsche SUV to be given the company's illustrious GT treatment, and after driving the Cayenne Turbo GT, we can honestly say there is not much that could be done to improve it. But that won't stop Porsche from trying. The entire Cayenne range is set for a facelift, as evidenced by spy shots dating back to last year.

CarBuzz has previously seen more pedestrian variants testing with flashy pixelated taillights and a minor headlight update. This time we spotted the 2023 Cayenne Turbo GT facelift testing around the Nurburgring in Germany, likely prepping to receive the same updates as the standard model.

The Cayenne Turbo GT has only been around for a year, but if Porsche is going to update the entire model line, it may as well apply those changes to the flagship.

The Turbo GT was easy to spot via its unique roof spoiler and dual-center exhaust. Like the other Cayenne trims, we expect the facelifted Turbo GT to arrive with slimmer headlights and a bolder taillight design featuring a more intricate pattern. Of course, this high-performance variant will have a different front bumper with larger air intakes to cool the engine.

Under the hood will sit a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8. It currently produces 631 horsepower and 626 lb-ft of torque, but we wouldn't be shocked if Porsche found a few more horses lying around the workshop. As with the current model, the Cayenne Turbo GT communicates through a model-specific titanium exhaust.

Inside, all Cayenne models will receive an update. The dashboard will be all digital (replacing all analog gauges, including the famous center tachometer), and the shifter design will be slightly different.

Though current market conditions could warrant a price increase, we don't expect the price to move much from the current MSRP of $188,700. Even at that price, the Cayenne Turbo GT is a bargain compared to the Lamborghini Urus, which starts at $225,500 and offers similar power and performance.

There is no official word on when the refreshed Cayenne will debut, but we wouldn't be surprised if Porsche makes an announcement before the end of this year.
