The Ferrari Roma is arguably the most elegantly styled machine in the Modena-based automaker's range for decades, 612 Scaglietti included. Despite its restrained look that makes it feel like something an Italian James Bond might drive, it's a serious performance car too. Sadly, not everybody knows what they're doing behind the wheel of an Italian supercar, and we've seen our fair share of crashes caused by a shortage of talent or simple stupidity. Usually, these things happen at high speeds, but the below video shows a Ferrari driver getting his Roma stuck in a narrow alleyway in arguably the silliest case of overoptimism we've seen in a while.

Having experienced narrow European streets ourselves, we can confirm that anything bigger than a Mini Cooper is seriously cumbersome when you're in the smaller towns and villages, and these streets can be something of maze to navigate. Still, what bothers us about the above video is that, even with a spotter helping the driver judge the alley, the car ends up being scraped through. It seems that the Ferrari is holding up traffic ahead too, as the video ends with the occupant of another car further up the alley coming over, presumably to complain about the delay. We don't see much more, but it seems that the Roma would have had to go back the way it came in order to extricate itself.

We would have liked to see what kind of damage the car sustained, but from what we can surmise, it appears that the wheels and fenders, particularly those at the rear, will have been heavily scraped and possibly even dented by the unnecessary maneuver. At 77.7 inches in width, a Roma is not a small car and the driver surely ought to have realized that this wouldn't work. What really disappoints us is that the driver continues to push through even after damage starts to be sustained, but we suppose that if you can afford to own a Roma, you can afford to damage one. Hopefully, his insurers aren't tight-fisted.
