Mouthwatering is more like it.
It has finally arrived, the first Bugatti Chiron US customer car, and there's no better place for that reveal than Pebble Beach during Monterey Car Week. Bugatti has released these exclusive images of this Chiron, proudly showing off its yellow and Nocturne black color scheme and "Classique" wheels. Step inside and you'll find an interior with a matching black and yellow theme, such as yellow inserts on the seats, door panels, center console armrest and the C-shaped ceiling divider.
The rest of the interior is covered in Beluga Black leather. Bugatti says that almost 30 percent of all Chiron orders are from the US, where the car carries a base price of $2.998 million. Remember, Chiron production is limited to only 500 examples (but we wouldn't be surprised if that changed with increased demand for special editions). All Chirons come powered by a quad-turbo 8.0-liter W16 engine with a glorious 1,479 hp and 1,180 lb-ft of torque. Power is distributed to all four wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Zero to 60 mph happens in a brief 2.4 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 261 mph.
Fuel economy? It has an EPA-rated figure of 9/14 mpg city/highway, but really, who cares? If you happen to be in the neighborhood, be sure to check out US Chiron No.1 in the flesh. We promise it'll be very much worth your time.
