Have you been waiting to get your hands on Jaguar's debut electric vehicle? Well your wait will soon be over, because while it hasn't officially gone on sale yet, the British automaker has delivered the first I-Pace in America.

The landmark vehicle went to the Pascarellas of Lakewood Ranch, Florida. The family has owned several Jaguars before – including two at present – but this is their first EV. "My whole family is excited!" said Mark Pascarella. "When I told my wife, twin 15 year-olds and 18 year-old, they couldn't believe we would have the first I-Pace delivered in North America."

Mark currently drives an F-Type R in red over black, and bought an F-Pace for his daughter to take to college (seriously). They've also had two XKRs, an XJ sedan, and another F-Type. They'd been considering an EV, but the (evidently successful) man of the house wasn't impressed with Teslas. So the I-Pace was a natural choice.

"When I looked at the I-Pace I could see that it was a typical first-class product made by Jaguar, with top of the line appointments and great looks," added Mark. "It doesn't look like a typical SUV, and on top of that, being electric was very appealing."

The I-Pace is the first electric vehicle to be offered by a premium European automaker, beating the Audi e-tron and Mercedes EQC to market. It packs a pair of electric motors and a 90-kWh lithium-ion battery pack to deliver a combined 400 horsepower and 513 lb-ft of torque. It'll travel for over 200 miles (220 by US EPA standards, 290 on the European WLTP). Pushed flat-out, it'll run to 62 mph in 4.8 seconds and top out at 124 mph. US pricing starts at $69,500, with the First Edition coming in at $85,900.
