First off, this is not the new season of Top Gear USA, which aired on the History Channel. Top Gear America, which will premiere on July 30 at 8pm EST, will air instead on BBC America and will star new hosts William Fichtner, Tom "Wookie" Ford and Antron Brown. BBC America has just released a 30-second trailer, and it's very Top Gear-ish. The familiar shenanigans are all there, only they're performed by a new trio. Watching the trailer closely, we managed to spot a Lamborghini Huracan Spyder, BAC Mono, Acura NSX and a Cadillac CTS-V.

There's also some off-road action, cop cars, going to the drive-thru, and other activities that have come to define the Top Gear franchise.

Obviously it's too early to make a final judgement about the new show and its hosts, so we'll definitely be tuning in late next month to see what transpires. In the meantime, let us know your thoughts. For starters, is there any need for Top Gear America?
