The Force Is Strong With The Nissan Rogue Star Wars Edition

But it definitely won't make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.

Consider it a lucky coincidence for Nissan that it’s popular Rogue compact crossover just so happens to have the same name as the latest Star Wars movie, "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." Of course Nissan was going to capitalize on this in some way, and the Rogue One Star Wars Edition is the answer. Limited to 5,000 examples in the US (400 for Canada), the Nissan Rogue One Edition costs an extra $1,990. What do you get for that? In short, lots of Star Wars trim stuff.

For example, there’s Rogue One Limited Edition badges, Galactic Empire and Rebel Alliance logo exterior decals, a unique Star Wars logo rear bumper protector, and illuminated Star Wars kick plates. Does the interior look like an X-Wing fighter? Hardly, but you do get a pair of Rebel Alliance cup holder inserts. So there’s that.

Our mid-level SV tester also came equipped with the $1,720 Sun and Sound Touring Package, which tacks on a panoramic sunroof, and Bose premium audio system with nine speakers and two subwoofers. Sounds wonderfully sci-fi geek, right? Kind of, but the grand total price of $31,400 is somewhat high, especially considering there’s the higher trim SL and the upcoming hybrid version. But even if you don’t want the Rogue One Edition, the 2017 Nissan Rogue is still a competitive player in a tough segment. Special thanks to Future Nissan for letting us film the car.
