Ever since the Ford F-150 Raptor R broke cover back in July, legions of Ford fans across America have been patiently waiting for this hardcore off-roader to hit dealer floors, and now, according to Ford Authority, that wait is finally drawing to a close. The first-ever F-150 Raptor R has been a focal point of discussion among enthusiasts who want to know if it's better than the Ram TRX, and now those who have put down deposits to find out what the supercharged super truck is like don't have much longer to wait. Initial retail units are on their way to dealers, with dealer inventory feeds currently reading "in transit." We expect the vehicles to arrive within the next few days.

The Ford F-150 Raptor R is an even more hardcore version of the already potent Raptor and features a supercharged 5.2-liter Predator V8 engine which it shares with the Mustang Shelby GT500. This super truck produces a massive 700 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque, making it the most potent Raptor model ever produced, and features a revised supercharger pulley that helps improve mid-range torque. The exterior of the Raptor R features not-so-subtle hints to its performance even when the engine is off, such as a unique power dome hood, a ton of "R" badges, and a splattering of fender graphics.

On the other side of town, Ram's 1500 TRX makes 702 horses and loves to make that fact known.

But all of that is just posing, and buyers can now get ready to compare their trucks side-by-side in the real world, which will hopefully mean lots of dune bashing between like-minded buddies who just happen to prefer different brands of performance pickups.

The Raptor R also features a serious suspension setup with a five-link rear setup with extra-length trailing arms, a Panhard rod, and 24-inch coil springs. The FOX Live Valve shocks are capable of continuous adjustment and 13 inches of travel in the front with 14.1 inches at the rear. The Raptor R rolls on a set of chunky 37-inch BFGoodrich tires. Inside, the Raptor R features Recaro sport bucket seats wrapped in Alcantara and leather, and there's carbon fiber scattered across the doors, dash, and center console.

According to Ford, these features are what make the Raptor R unlike any other off-roading truck, but you pay for the privilege: this mega Ford will set you back $109,145 (including destination), which is over $30,000 more than you'll pay for the quicker Ram TRX. That's assuming your dealer doesn't impose a hefty "market adjustment."
