We have been patiently waiting for the Genesis brand to reveal its new G70 sedan. This small sedan will be a direct competitor to models like the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4, Lexus IS, Alfa Romeo Giulia, Mercedes C-Class and many others. So far, we've only seen the G70 as a gorgeous concept car and in spy shots with heavy camouflage. Genesis has finally released a teaser of the car that confirms it will be revealed on its home turf at the 2017 Seoul Motor Show on September 15.

The actual teaser shows almost nothing about the G70 other than announcing when we will finally see the car. Genesis says that it deliberately chose Seoul as the location to reveal the G70 as a celebration of where the brand came from. The Frankfurt Motor Show would probably have been a better location for such an important reveal.

The G70 could end up being a very important car. The platform will be based on a shortened version of the Kia Stinger, which is one of our most anticipated cars of the year. Genesis will offer three engines, a 2.2-liter diesel (that probably won't make it to the US), a 2.0-liter turbo and a 3.3-liter twin-turbo V6 with 365 hp. If the G70 is basically a shorter Kia Stinger with a nicer interior, it could be an absolute gem of a car.
