Ever since Genesis first arrived on the scene, the company has been pushing the limits of what a luxury car's styling should be, building ever cooler cars that have the lavish comfort to match the looks. The Genesis G70 is one of the cars that we think looks better than it gets credit for, but the new model will continue to have an understated yet stylish appearance. What we're most interested in, however, is the shooting brake version. While the most recent spy shots give a fairly good idea of how the new model will look, we haven't really been able to fully picture the car in our mind's eye. Luckily, a new render from KooKiSung Studio is here to help us out.

If the production model looks anything like the images above, the G70 Shooting Brake will have quite a large rear end and should offer impressive cargo-carrying capabilities. The render also shows oval exhaust tips, although the spy shots have indicated that a quad-exit setup is more likely. Furthermore, the render depicts an integrated duckbill spoiler in the rear hatch and, as is typical of shooting brakes, a fairly small rear window. While we like the styling with its large faux diffuser and coupe-like profile, this render is likely to be divisive. There's no doubt that there's an element of sportiness to the design, but that oversized rear end may well deter some.

Whatever the final product looks like, the G70 is going to have its work cut out battling the likes of the Volkswagen Arteon Shooting Brake. At this point, we still have no confirmation as to whether the new model will be making its way Stateside, but based on our history with cool import cars that cater more to enthusiasts, we wouldn't get too excited about our prospects. But what do you think of it? Is this new model going to be a smash-hit that sells like hotcakes or is Genesis pushing the boundaries of styling too far? Either way, Genesis is making waves and we love the brand for that.
