GM is investing big in its EV future. It aims to offer 30 new EV models by 2025, making it one of the biggest players in the electric vehicle market. In order to get customers excited about an all-electric future, brands have had to come up with some headline-grabbing vehicles. GM has done so with the GMC Hummer EV.

Most know the Hummer as the official vehicle of Arnold Schwarzenegger and guys who feature on those storage hunter TV shows. But GM and its GMC brand have flipped the image of this all-American brute on its head by offering it as an EV. But it hasn't appeared in the flesh yet for the public at large. That will change at the upcoming Motor Bella show being held at the M1 Concourse in Pontiac, Michigan.

GMC will launch the truck version before the SUV, so it'll definitely be a cool opportunity to see this thing months before it hits the road. Also set to be on hand is the new GM Defense Infantry Squad Vehicle and a wide range of GM performance vehicles, including the next-generation Camaro ZL1 race car and Corvette C8.R.

"For decades, GM and Chevrolet have served as industry leaders in automotive innovation, continually pushing the limits of what new technology and precision engineering can bring to the racetrack, showroom, and the aftermarket. GM's Motor Bella display is a testament to the dedication and resolve of our performance, motorsports and production teams," said Jim Campbell, GM vice president of motorsport.

GM is set to start production of the new Hummer early in 2023 at Factory ZERO in Detroit. The new truck aims to be a game-changer. In base form, the Hummer is expected to offer a massive 625 hp and 7,400 lb-ft of torque, and a range of up to 300 miles.

The EV3X trim will boost power up to 830 hp and 11,500 lb-ft of torque, boost maximum range to 300-plus-miles, and get to 60 mph in only 3.5 seconds. It is expected that the Hummer EV SUV will start at $79,995, while the Edition 1 car will go for $105,595. The Motor Bella auto show will run from 23 to 26 September.
