Following the success of the ultra-luxurious Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate pickup truck, GMC has decided to expand the Denali Ultimate trim level to its Yukon SUV. Give a warm welcome to the 2023 GMC Yukon Denali Ultimate, the most luxurious Yukon ever built.

The Yukon Denali is already quite premium (nearing in on Cadillac Escalade levels of comfort), but the Ultimate trim takes it a step further with new additions such as 16-way front seats with massage function and an 18-speaker Bose Performance Series audio system with headrest-mounted speakers.

GMC will offer the Yukon Denali Ultimate with a choice of two engines: a standard 6.2-liter V8 or an optional Duramax 3.0-liter turbo-diesel inline-six.

Both engines develop 460 lb-ft of torque, but the V8 outguns the Duramax on horsepower with 420 hp versus 277 hp. The diesel makes up for its lack of grunt with superior fuel economy. No matter which engine you choose, power goes out through a 10-speed automatic transmission to standard Active Response 4WD.

As expected from the top Yukon trim, the vehicle comes loaded with flashy GM technology, including Magnetic Ride Control, Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, and an electronic limited-slip differential. Available but not standard is GM's class-leading Super Cruise technology, which now works while trailering.

Inside, the Denali Ultimate trim sports outstanding materials. The Alpine Umber interior is finished in full-grain leather for all three rows with exclusive contrast stitching. Other premium materials include aluminum decor trim, and open-pore Paldao woodgrain with an etched topological map of Mount Denali.

In regards new technology, the Yukon receives GMC's latest Google-powered infotainment system living on a 10.2-inch touchscreen. It features wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, built-in Alexa, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.

The most premium Yukon ever gets some unique exterior details too. It rides on Ultimate-exclusive 22-inch machine wheels with bright chrome and dark paint. Those wheels match the bright chrome door/window trim and exclusive Vader chrome elements on the front fascia.

The 2023 Yukon Denali Ultimate goes on sale this fall, but GMC has not announced pricing just yet. We expect it to cost more than the standard Yukon Denali, which currently starts at $70,600.
