Few names stand out more in the world of supercars than Gordon Murray. This is the man responsible for motoring legends such as the McLaren F1, the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren, and a slew of Brabham racing cars throughout the 70s and 80s. These days Murray keeps himself, and his employees busy by chasing automotive perfection, and the Gordon Murray T.50 is the current apple of his eye. In his latest video, we get a behind the scenes peek at the workings of Gordon Murray Automotive, further insight into the mind of a living legend, and we even get to see the T.50 being thrashed on public roads.

At the start of the video, Dario Franchitti, a Scottish ex-racing driver and motorsport commentator interviews a few of the GMA employees about how they got their jobs, and talks shop with Murray. At one point they talk about the exhaust sound of the T.50. Franchitti compares it to that of a superbike, after which Murray corrects him: "It's like a 90s Formula One car." He also points out that those classic F1 cars didn't rev much higher than the T.50, which has one of the most incredible V12 engines ever produced. Later in the video, Franchitti finally gets behind the wheel of the three-seater T.50, and is in awe the second the car starts.

The T.50 is powered by a 3.9-liter naturally-aspirated V12 producing 650 horsepower, and even on video, it sounds absolutely haunting. The T.50 loves a good rev, and will only hit its redline at 12,100 rpm, making it one of the highest revving supercars of all time. Franchitti is left virtually speechless by the T.50, Later on he is joined by two more T50s for a jaunt around Millbrook racing track. It's one of the cooler things you'll see this week. This is an ongoing series, so keep your eyes peeled for episode 15.
