The Grand Tour Season Finale Will Bring The Veyron Out Of Retirement

The Veyron will meet its match in the season finale of The Grand Tour, in a drag race against the Porsche 918 Spyder.

Can you believe it? 13 weeks have passed since Clarkson, Hammond and May returned to our screens in their new Amazon show The Grand Tour. And now we're at the final episode of its inaugural season. We've been wondering if the season finale will live up to the grandiose opening episode. Well, a trailer for the season finale has been released, and here are the contents: drifting, a Bugatti Veyron and mud. Lots and lots of mud. This week, the team pitch the tent in Dubai.

While we've criticized some segments in previous episodes for outstaying their welcome, this promises to be a feature-packed episode. Things get personal as Clarkson and May face off in their own cars, with Clarkson reminiscing on the past with his Volkswagen Golf GTI, while May looks to the future in his electric BMW i3.

Hammond heads to France to learn the art of driving sideways with a professional drifter which sounds promising. This could be The Grand Tour's equivalent to when Hammond was let loose in an F1 car in Top Gear. Meanwhile, May's suffering is showing no signs of ending this season. After struggling through the Maserati challenge with a broken arm, the team subject him to further humiliation. It's all just an excuse to splash him with copious amounts of mud. Best of all, the Bugatti Veyron, which frequently appeared in Top Gear, gets a send-off in a drag race against its current hypercar equivalent, the Porsche 918 Spyder. Will it have met its match? Find out in the final episode this week. Can't wait.
