Unlike many cars at SEMA, this mad six-wheeled machine is going into production, limited to 50 examples.
As promised, Texas tuner Hennessey has unveiled the show-stopping VelociRaptor 6x6 at SEMA based on the 2018 Ford F-150 Raptor truck as America's answer to the mighty Mercedes-AMG G63 6x6. We didn't think it was possible, but Hennessey has somehow managed to make its German rival look tame, adding more power while undercutting the AMG 6x6's price. Building on the VelociRaptor 6x6 concept unveiled last year, the bonkers six-wheel drive off-roader is powered by the Raptor's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6.
Using Hennessey's 600 Twin Turbo tuning package, the 3.5-liter unit can be upgraded to produce over 600 horsepower. Unlike many of the outlandish cars being exhibited at SEMA, the Hennessey VelociRaptor 6x6 will be put into production, limited to just 50 units with prices starting at $349,000. For that you get a base 2018 Raptor 4-door truck, 6X6 locking rear axles, VelociRaptor 600 twin turbo engine upgrade, upgraded suspension, upgraded 20-inch wheels and Toyo off-road tires, VelociRaptor front and rear bumpers, roll bar and LED lights. An optional Brembo brake system upgrade is also available which includes 6 calipers and rotors for an additional $22,000.
The VelociRaptor 6x6 is the ultimate off-road vehicle. We will be building just 50 VelociRaptor 6x6s, which makes it not only one of the most aggressive and unique vehicles on the market, but also one of the most exclusive", said company founder John Hennessey. Our VelociRaptor 6x6 is pure aggression on wheels - all six of them", he added. According to the tuner, the six-wheeled truck can ordered directly from Hennessey Performance, or through select Ford dealers.
