Revealed at Monterey in August, the monstrous Mercedes-Maybach concept car makes its way to Paris.
You've seen pictures of this impressive looking concept car before, but they do nothing to prepare you for how big the 2+2 seater, luxury class coupe really is. If you put smoke stacks on the roof and get Jack and Rose to stand on the hood with arms spread wide, you'd swear the Vision Mercedes-Maybach 6 was the Titanic wearing red paint. This sleek red coupe measures in at 18.7 feet long, 6.9 feet wide and stands 4.35 feet tall. While it features loads of amazing tech, we're sure it can't find a parking spot to fit in.
Ok, so it's not really a remote control car, but thanks to it's massive size, it's been given this function so that it can be parked while watching from the outside so that the car doesn't get dinged, or ding another equally expensive show car. No matter how expensive the car or flashy the suit, you're going to look quite weird getting out of the car to park it when you pop down to the local shops. The Vision was built to show off the best of the two brands and it's powered by an all-electric powertrain with a large 750 hp available that's said to propel the giant car to 60 mph in under four seconds. While it will never see production we're sure to see it's technologies filter down into future Mercedes models.
That power comes from four compact permanent magnet synchronous electric motors, making it an all-wheel setup. Up top the Vision is governed to 155 mph, but it also boasts a range of over 310 miles. The huge car really impresses in the metal, if it was shrunken down to the size of a normal car we'd try take it for a drive. We didn't get to climb inside it in Paris, but we've seen the wraparound interior before and it's as impressive as the exterior. Everything is in blue and white, only the seat belt straps match the paint. We'd have sorted out the interior lighting to shine red too, seeing as there's only going to be one of these cars you might as well make everything match.
