The Jaguar E-Pace made its world debut in dramatic style earlier this year with a James Bond-esque, record-breaking barrel roll. While there were no show-stopping stunts this time, the stunning E-Pace still manages to stand out from the crossover crowd at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Granted, it doesn't look drastically different from its bigger brother, but that's no bad thing in this case considering that the F-Pace was hailed as the most beautiful car in 2017.

It's beautifully proportioned, with a composed, yet sporty appearance that makes most compact crossovers look dull in comparison. Under the hood lies a 2.0-liter turbocharged Ingenium gasoline engine in two flavors, the most potent of which sends 296 horsepower to all four wheels through a nine-speed automatic. All-wheel drive is now offered as standard, and the E-Pace needs 5.9 seconds to sprint from 0-62 mph before topping out at 152 mph. It may be a compact SUV, but the E-Pace's spacious interior has room for five occupants, and the cabin is bathed in natural light thanks to its sloping panoramic glass roof.

It may not quite be advanced enough to drive itself yet, but the E-Pace is loaded with driver assists such as a Blind Spot Assist, Lane Keep Assist, and Autonomous Emergency Braking that also supports pedestrian detection using a stereo camera. Jaguar is onto a winner here, with a crossover that's sporty yet practical, making it one of the most desirable compact SUVs on the market.
